Transience
Amidst all commotion, my overwhelming emotion, my turmoil,
I need comfort, a tempest to concert, a base to rest,
I look around for help, while pains whelp, and continue to roil,
I seek a shoulder, while I molder, with the pang in my chest,
Some come as respite, to console my plight, those generous souls,
And addict me high, and make me rely, the evanescent guests,
Ephemeral as a bubble, leaving my heart in rubble, they burst,
For me to find, another of the kind, a brand new quest,
A shoulder I need, to pay me some heed, to quench my thirst,
but on whom shall I rely, for all do belie, whom do you suggest ?
for the truth remains, every friend who reigns, in time, complains,
amidst the throes, every friend goes, the pain for me to digest.
